Bringing My Vision Board To Life

Bringing My Vision Board To Life

Travel back to my blogs and you will read about my vision board. I made the board to remind myself of

what I enjoy doing and encourage me to get back out there and have fun again.

I am giving myself permission to take time just for me. To spend time doing activities that fill my cup.

Doing this helps me be a better version of myself.

I have done many vision boards in the past. Honestly, if I accomplished half or more of the items on the

list by the end of the year, I was pretty happy with the results.

I knew this time would be different when I was making it.

It is important to me that I stay on top of making these desires a reality.

Winner, Winner!

Last year my husband won a free cruise for two. We have never been on a cruise.

The last time we were booked on one it was canceled due to a hurricane. Shortly after, Covid hit,

and then cost deterred us. But this time, we were determined to make it happen.

We have been married for almost twenty-three years and have not taken a trip that was just the two

of us since our honeymoon. It was past time for us to take time away together.

We were blessed to have a family member stay with our son so we could go. Knowing he was well

cared for allowed me to unplug…much more than I usually would…and really enjoy all the cruise had to

offer.

Just One Week

In that one week we hit the big items on my vision board. My happy place is near the water.

Any water that is bigger than a pond. I was near it 24/7. I love boating. This was a huge boat! I love

the islands. I have always said I’d love to live on an island someday. We visited 3! We swam, snorkeled,

and relaxed on the beach. We spent time just enjoying one another’s company.

This is my heaven!

We went to morning and evening shows, all the concerts we could, an art show, the piano bar, the

nightclub, the deck party, saw all the comedians and so much more. We wandered through the

boutiques. Had drinks and lunch at local restaurants. We drove ATVs, walked through gardens,

took a jeep tour, went off the beaten path, and explored. I spent time in the spa every single day

relaxing. Ahhh…just thinking about all of this makes me smile.

In just one week, I was ticking off all of these items from my vision board. We got up early and stayed

out late. We explored everywhere we went and have wonderful stories to tell.

Back To Reality

When we returned home it was back to the craziness that life throws at us each day. However, we have

a renewed sense of what we want going forward. Although the suitcases have been stowed away, they

won’t be collecting dust. We know we want to keep traveling and find new places to wander.

The desire to spend time trying new places and things has been rekindled. We are already putting

activities on the calendar.

The reality is that I could easily slip back into my old habits of comfort. The excuses can pile up quickly. This is a reminder that I am worth taking the time, spending the money, pushing past my comfort zone,                                             and being purposeful about having fun again.

What should I try next?
